Summer Eats in Scottsdale

Summer Eats in Scottsdale

July 29, 2020 12:14 pm Published by

Although the past year has slowed down events and activities, Scottsdale is still abundant with things to do! Complete with pools, spas, fire pits, pool tables, BBQ grills, and even volleyball courts, our vacation rentals are an amazing way to still have an unforgettable family trip even while being safe and socially distanced.

The only thing our rentals do not provide: unforgettably delicious food that the whole family will love.

That’s why we’ve come up with this guide of popular Scottsdale food spots that are raved about by tourists and locals alike! Trust us, after a day lounging at the pool or an intense family volleyball tournament, your friends and family will thank you for coming prepared with the best summertime eats Scottsdale has to offer.

Breakfast & Brunch in the Summertime

Hash Kitchen

The ideal breakfast-brunch fix in Scottsdale and home of the original Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary Bar, Hash Kitchen is chocked full of sweet and savory meals. Start the table with an order of cannoli donuts, then indulge in the selection of HK hashes with crispy potatoes and topped with eggs. Want to go off-book? Build your own scrambler or frittata and top it off with a Bloody Mary, mimosa flight, or seltzer cocktail, all with turntable music blasting by 11am! Take it from them: “Eat, Drink, & Be ‘Mary’”.

Butters Pancakes & Cafe

Open 7 days a week from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Butters Pancakes and Cafe proves that “Butter Makes Everything Better.” Claim a stack of strawberry chocolate chip pancakes, or go for stuffed Nutella french toast, Belgian waffles, or a berry bliss crepe. Want a more savory route? Butters has omelettes, scramblers, skillets, benedicts, and specialty sandwiches and burritos for your picking. Make sure to get a side of applewood smoked bacon! With a kids brunch menu and convenient proximity to 4 regarded golf courses and Salt River Fields park, Butters is a necessary stop for your family to start the weekend activities!

Brunch & Sip

Where everyday feels like the weekend… Brunch & Sip is the name, and brunch served daily is their game! Specializing in fresh, new eats for the breakfast scene, this open-aired, contemporary restaurant has lots to fill your table. Grab some cheesy hash brown bites to start and choose from unique savories and sweets. Consider the featured menu item, Because Waffles Shouldn’t Have All the Fun: pancakes topped with maple glazed chicken wings and raspberry-infused butter… all from scratch (we’re drooling for that one). Want to add some bubbles? Brunch & Sip offers mimosa flights, champagne, standard and specialty cocktails to top off your time!

Lunch & Dinner Spots

Old Town Tortilla Factory

Scottsdale’s 800+ restaurants can seem overwhelming, but one of the highlights that cannot be missed is Old Town Tortilla Factory. This distinctly Southwestern restaurant is built from an 85-year old adobe home and features a firewater patio and an unmissable tequila bar featuring an award-winning margarita! Worried about dining outside during the hot summer months? Don’t worry, the patio is misted regularly to keep the dining area at a refreshingly cool temperature.

Chart House

A picturesque spot: Chart House. Offering beautiful and unique views of both Camelback Lake and Camelback Mountain, the atmosphere is both elegant yet comfortable. The fresh seafood, decadent desserts, and perfectly cooked steak will make you dream about your meal for summers to come.

Zinc Bistro

Romantic French restaurant Zinc Bistro is a great choice for date night. From its garden courtyard to its pet-friendly outdoor patio, it’s a gorgeous spot for a special night out. In addition to its dinner menu that includes premium seafood, steak frites, and charcuterie, they also offer a Sunday brunch that features Dungeness crab benedict, buttermilk battered crispy chicken sandwiches, and crème brulee French toast. It’s definitely a spot you won’t want to skip!

Tommy Bahama

Another spot with stunning views is Tommy Bahama Restaurant at Kierland Commons. Their patio and outdoor dining rooms offer prime sunset views and their menu offers delicious island flavors including blackened mahi-mahi tacos, coconut-crusted crab cakes, and Kona coffee-crusted ribeye. They also offer a To-Go menu that includes many of their tropical cocktails.

Don’t Forget The Takeout!

If you prefer to trade the ambiance of these famous Scottsdale eateries for the comfort of your stay, Scottsdale has delicious takeout options as well!

Blanco Tacos

Mexican-joint-with-a-twist Blanco Tacos is offering their delicious tacos to-go along with beer, wine, and their perfect margaritas! They are even offering a family meal pack that includes a variety of tacos, enchiladas, rice and beans, plus sides! Sounds like the perfect meal to eat poolside if you ask us.

Culinary Dropout

Another great takeout option with two locations in town, Culinary Dropout has perfected Contemporary American cuisine that both the adults and kids will love. Some of their menu’s favorites include their 36-hour pork ribs, fried chicken, and beer-battered fish and chips. They also have a family pack that includes fried chicken, ribs, mac and cheese, plus sides. You can even add a few cocktails to go!

North Italia

Crave-worthy Italian spot North Italia features handmade pizza and fresh pasta, along with small plates including white truffle garlic bread and Italian meatballs. Their signature sandwiches including their crispy pesto chicken and Italian grinder are also available for takeout (and make a great pool-day lunch)!

Pomo Pizzeria

One last restaurant that offers takeout is Pomo Pizzeria. In addition to their popular menu stables such as handcrafted pasta and authentic Italian pizzas, their seasonal summer menu includes a burrata, prosciutto, and peach pizza, and a pureed cold soup of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and avocados.

Whether in Scottsdale for the weekend or planning a longer summer getaway, these meals from some of Scottsdale’s best restaurants are sure to be the highlights of your trip! Not to mention, the rentals at Scottsdale Stays are the perfect place to enjoy these meals — whether soaking up the sun by the pool or curled up on the couch with the AC blasting!

Locations may have modified schedules, services, and offerings due to COVID-19 procedures. Call ahead, order pickup if necessary, and keep a safe distance!
